Vermox [Mebendazole] - Anthelmintic Drug - Worm Treatment

Vermox [Mebendazole] is an anthelmintic drug which is used to treat infections caused by worms. The major constituent of Vermox is Mebendazole which is an anti worm or anthelmintic drug. Vermox [Mebendazole] prevents the growth of the worms in the body and plays a major role in treating the intestinal worm infections. Vermox operates by inhibiting the uptake of glucose from the body thereby resulting in energy loss and death of the worm. Vermox is a synthetic broad-spectrum anti-helmintic medicine which is available as chewable tablets. Each tablet contains 100 mg of mebendazole. The medication Vermox is available as orange colored and flavored tablets. It is also available as a white banana flavored suspension.
The action of Vermox is best indicated in pinworms hookworms roundworms and whipworms. The duration of the treatment varies from person to person and it must be taken according to the instructions of the physician. For the complete cure of the worm infestation a second course of the drug is compulsorily required. Vermox is available only with the help of a prescription of the doctor. As there are chances for the worm infections to be transmitted from one person to the other person hence the members of the family too should undergo treatment at the same time to prevent re-infection up to some extent.
Vermox is not to be given to children younger than 2 years of age. While taking Vermox there are no restrictions for the person to take any foods beverages or perform any activities.
In case an over dose of Vermox takes place then immediate medical attention is required. Avoid taking double dose of Vermox.
